| Objective: To find a sort of the ideal muscle bridge. Method: Observed and measured the relative length and transverse-area of muscle fiber in the muscle bridge from the sartorius and flexor digitorum superficial is of dogs by dissection under the stereoscope and image-analysis methods, and made the experiment that the muscle bridge from sartorius and flexor digitorum superficialis are sewed to defect nerve. Results: The most of muscle fiber in sartorius parallel the longitudinal axis of muscle bridge, and equa1 the length of the muscle bridge. The other muscle bridge in our experiment are different from sartorius although the muscle bridge is cut longitudinally along the muscle margin. There are obvious difference among the transverse-area of the muscle fiber in those muscle bridges. The larger the angle between the direction of the muscle fiber and the longitudinal axis of the muscle bridge is, the larger the transverse-area of the muscle fiber in the muscle bridge is. Nerve regeneration sewed by the muscle bridge from the cauda1 portion of sartorius is bettter than one sewed by muscle bridge from flexor digitorum superficialis. Conclusion: There is a larger effect on the nerve regeneration of nerve defect in animal. Because of the variety in the relative length of the muscle fiber in the muscle bridge. The difference maybe help to explain the variety in the clinical effect of muscle bridge. |
