The Clinic Research of Treating of Diffuse Axonal Injury by Potassium Magnesium AspartateDiffuse axonal injury (DAI) is used to describe brain injury characterized by swelling and break of neuraxis in deep part of brain after head injury.Purpose To investigate the result of potassium magnesium aspartate for treatment of diffuse axonal injury (DAI).Methods 40 patients of DAI were divided into two groups. The patients of treatment group were 20. They were treated with potassium magnesium aspartate injection and other routine treatments immediately after hospitalization. And control group 20 cases were only treated with routine treatments. The NSE of CSF of all the patients must be examined at the very moment of coming in (in 24hours), later in the 3rd day and the 1st week. They were surveyed while being treated. Study and analyze all the patients, two months later.Results The NSE of CSF of the treatment group at the very moment of coming in, the 3rd day and the 1st week were the following: (46.3±21.2)μgL,(32.4±17.5)μgL,(21.3±11.2)μgL (right 7~16μgL); The control group was the following at the same time: (45.6±22.2)μgL,(37.6±19.7)μgL,(25.6±13.2)μgL. There is obvious difference between two group s (P<0.05). GOS score, quality of living, etc were higher than those of the other group obviously, while the death rate of treatment group was lower than that of the control group very clearly.Conclusion Magnesiumion was effective in treatment of patients with diffuse axonnal injury at least in the near future. The contents of NSE of CSF increase after DAI. Potassium Magnesium Aspartate used to cure the patients of DAI can make the contents of NSE of CSF decrease and prevent continuous cerebral damage. Magnesiumion was effective in treatment of patients with diffuse axonnal injury, But mild hypothermia better than Magnesiumion about the effect in treatment of with diffuse axonnal injury in the future. The equipment of mild hypothermia was exorbitant, inspecting and meterageing index were many, operation was heavy. By contraries, Magnesiumion was handy, easiness and inexpensive. So it can be applied to treatment of DAI in small hospital, and to be an assistant means in treatment of DAI.
