The City Hospital is the main form of health facilities, also an important subsystems of urban public facilities, its effective and rational layout is very important to urban convenient medical care, to promote the city's overall medical standards, to meet the city benefits' maximizing and promoting the integration of urban and rural, establishing a harmonious society. However, with the rapid urban developing speed, changes on both urban spatial structure and population structure affect the spatial layout of the hospital and medical treatment. Overall, the existing urban hospitals no longer fit the spatial distribution of the city, we need a combination of urban development to find urban hospitals spatial distribution patterns which are suitable to the present and the future urban spatial pattern. This study is to explore a new city hospitals space optimization pattern from the city spatial pattern, population distribution changes, using related theoretical model of geographic information systems.Location Allocation Model is the main location for finding problems and providing solutions to the distribution facilities, optimize the facilities space allocation. The Model can be used to the optimal site location, and can be used for evaluation of existing facilities, improve or find unreasonable, is largely theoretical model of the paper. GIS has the functions of acquisition, management, editing, outputting spatial data, and GIS has a variety of ways of spatial analysis which make it the most effective technologies and methods resolving spatial problems. The integration of LA and GIS is one of the best tools to addressing the space configuration and optimization site and it can provide reliable scientific basis for policy-makers and help policy-makers to make scientific and rational planning of space layout. The case study is carried out on this background. Tianmen city, a middle-small scale city bearing rapid urban development in central China, is selected to do the research. Firstly is Tianmen City Urban Development and the distribution of medical facilities and space problems, access first-hand information on the paper through questionnaires. And then, by applying the location-allocation model, the accessibility of city hospital is increased with relocating facilities and adding new ones. The paper demonstrates the using of location-allocation model can improve the spatial accessibility of existing City Hospitals and provide scientific advice and recommendations for city Hospital planning. At the same time, this research also makes it possible to provide reference for other city hospitals' space optimized layout.
