Objective: To search a common drug effect spectrum of Chinese herbs of sweet, cold and channel tropism of the Gan and Shen which is different from the rest groups of drugs (Chinese herbs of non-sweet, non-cold and channel tropism of the Gan and Shen; Chinese herbs of sweet, cold and channel tropism of the non-Gan and non-Shen; Chinese herbs of non-sweet, non-cold and channel tropism of the non-Gan and non-Shen), we approach the relation between Chinese herbs property about sweet, cold and channel tropism of the Gan and Shen and immunoenhancement pharmaco-activity, through studying the immune function effect of Chinese herbs of sweet, cold and channel tropism of the Gan and Shen on immunosuppressive mice induced by cyclophosphamide (CTX). Methods: We determine the rate of macrophage phagocytosis in vivo; celiac macrophage activity in vitro and celiac macrophage phagocytic function in vitro; serum hemolysin level, and observe the proliferative response of T lymphocyte induced by phytohemagglutinin (PHA) . Results: Chinese herbs of sweet, cold and channel tropism of the Gan and Shen can significantly increase the immune function of immunosuppressive mice. Conclusion: Promoting the immune function of model mice was a common effect in drug effect spectrum (drug property) of Chinese herbs of sweet, cold and channel tropism of the Gan and Shen, but it was not characteristic effect as compared with the rest groups of drugs.
