Vision is the most important organic function of human-beings, the visually-impaired will mentally and physically suffer a great change, it may be imposed by society. And visually-impaired students often have some special psychological problems caused by their special pathological conditions. We can divide these problems into different kinds, according to different reasons that caused visual impairment that include innate and acquired disease, partial and comprehensive injury and low-grade and high-grade injury.ObjectiveBy researching all visually-impaired students of Special Education College of Changchun University, to know distinct psychological problems of different students with different kinds of visual impairment, and to study whether and how different diseases which cause visual impairment are related to the special psychological problems.Methods1. Experimental subject:249 students of Special Education College of Changchun University, which is composed of male--186 and female--63; the poor-sighted--113 and blind--136; the innate--169 and acquired--80.2. According to psychology SCL-90 research form and ordinary research form, the ordinary research form is comprised of serial number, gender, age, grade, family background, living environment, reason of visual impairment, type and grade of visual impairment and duration of visual impairment. Choose 267 normal students to build up the standard sample.3. To compare the blind students with the poor-sighted students; to study the masculine items and factors of innate and acquired students in SCL-90 research form; To research the gender difference; To compare the exam marks of single course.4. According to different data types, choose different analyzing methods. Statistic methods and tools--SPSS13.0,Excel 2003 is used. resultResults1. Compared with normal students, the blind students get different factor marks. There are 16 masculine items approaching the highest. (这话哪来的?)2. The number of the blind is larger than the number of the poor-sighted in Special Education College of Changchun University.3. The gender proportion of the innate and acquired visually-impaired students has no obvious difference.4. There is a great difference of gender proportion between the blind and the poor-sighted.5. There is a big difference in SCL-90 research form marks between the blind and the poor-sighted.6. The exam results of diagnostics in 2007 shows that there is no difference in single course between the blind and the poor-sighted. 7. The predisposing cause of both blind and poor-sighted students are generally innate diseases and heredity diseases. Acquired injury and infection take second place.8. The exam result of diagnostics shows there is no obvious difference between innate and acquired visually-impaired students.9. The SCL-90 research form marks are obviously different between the innate and acquired visually-impaired students.ConclusionCompared with normal students, visually-impaired students have psychological problems. The psychological problems of blind students and poor-sighted students have some difference. The psychological problems of innate and acquired visually-impaired students are different partly. Visually-impaired students are more sensitive, anxious and depressive.
