Objective: By investigating the contents changes and their relativity ofserous biochemical index relative to bone metabolism, estradiol, testosteroneand parathyroid hormone in serum in different subsets of osteoarthritis(OA),so as to make sure the relationship of bone metabolism biochemical index, estradiol, testosterone and parathyroid hormone in different subsets of OAand provide foundation for clinical diagnosis and therapy and effect. Methods: The patients who meet the diagnostic criteria of OA incervical, lumbar and knee were included and each group was 30respectively. Firstly evaluated the symptoms, physical signs and ADL score ofthe patients, and then measured the contents of serum E2, T, PTH, B-LAP,BGP-N, CTX-I and TRAP in all patients. Analyzedâ‘ the difference ofserous biochemical index relative to bone metabolism in different subsets ofosteoarthritisâ‘¡the difference of the contents of estradiol, testosterone andparathyroid hormone in different subsets of osteoarthritisâ‘¢the correlationof course with serum biochemical index relative to bone metabolism, estradiol, testosterone and parathyroid hormone in different subsets of osteoarthritisâ‘£the correlation of ADL with serum biochemical index relativeto bone metabolism , estradiol , testosterone and parathyroid hormone indifferent subsets of osteoarthritis.Dealing with the datas and drawing chartsby SPSS 11.5 statistical analysis software when complet the study. Results:â‘ As to the contents of serum B-LAP, there were no differencestatistically among the three subsets of OA. Compaired with knee OA, thecontents of serum B-LAP were lower in Cervical OA; As to the contents ofserum BGP-N, there were difference statistically among the three subsets ofOA. The contents of serum BGP-N was lower in Cervical OA and LumbarOA than in knee OA however there were no difference statistically betweenthe Cervical and Lumbar OA; As to the contents of serum CTX-I, therewere no difference statistically among the three subsets of OA. The contentsof serum CTX-I was lower in Cervical and Lumbar OA than in knee OAwhile there were no difference statistically between the Cervical and LumbarOA; The contents of serum TRAP showed no difference statistically amongall the subsets.â‘¡As to the contents of serum E2, there were differencestatistically among the three subsets of OA. The contents of serum E2 washigher in Cervical and Lumbar subsets than in knee subset while there wereno statistical difference between the Cervical and Lumbar subsets; As to thecontents of serumT, there were difference statistically among the threesubsets of OA.The contents of serum T was higher in Cervical and Lumbarsubsets than the ones in knee OA while there were no difference statisticallybetween the Cervical and Lumbar OA;The contents of serum PTH showed nodifference statistically among all the subsets.â‘¢There were no correlation incourse with all detective indexs in the three subsets of OA respectively, however there were negative correlation-in course with serum estrogen aswell as serum androgen in the whole OA.â‘£There were no correlation inADL with all detective indexs in the three subsets of OA respectively, however there were positive correlation in ADL with serum androgen in thewhole OA.Conclusion:â‘ The contents of serum B-LAP, BGP-N, CTX-I are allhigher in knee osteoarthritis than the Cervical and Lumbar subsets, whichsuggested that bone form and absorption are more activite in knee OA thanothers, which could be one of the important pathogenesis in kneeosteoarthritis. What is more, coexistence of bone form and absorption couldbe the primary pathological changesâ‘¡As to the contents of serum E2 and T,there were difference statistically among the three subsets of OA. Thecontents of serum E2 was higher in Cervical and Lumbar subsets than in kneesubset while there were no difference statistically between the Cervical andLumbar subsets, which indicated the decrease of the contents of E2 could beone of higher incidence in knee OA.â‘¢The contents of serum PTH showed nodifference statistically among all the subsets, which suggest that there are norelationship between PTH and the incidence of OA.â‘£There no correlation incourse and ADL with all detective indexs in the three subsets of OArespectively. However there are negative correlation in course with serumestrogen as well as positive correlation in ADL with serum androgen in thewhole OA,which suggest that sex hormone could be the important protectivefactor for pathophysiological changes in OA.
