With the improvement of living standards and medical advances, the life expectancy is increasing and there are more and more the elderly aged over 90 years who be defined as the longevities by WHO. Researches showed that longevity was related to people's diet, psychology, lifestyle and physical activities. Among these factors, diet played a crucial role to health and longevity which directly affected the quality of life and the nutrition and health status of the elderly. The rates of malnutrition for them increased significantly with age. So the evaluation of nutrition status was very important content for reflecting their health condition. At present, the studies about the longevities were limited, especially in food choice, eating habits, diet pattern and nutrition status. The traditional methods of evaluating nutrition status were complex, which including anthropometry, clinical examination, dietary survey and laboratory tests, which applications were limited in the olds yet. Mini-nutrition assessment (MNA) was new, simpler and comprehensive method to evaluate nutrition status mainly for the elderly. Its results were reliable with only a little time to complete. It was easy to detect and earlier to find the edge of malnutrition. So in our study, MNA was used to evaluate the nutrition status of the longevities. Its applicability in the longevities was discussed. Dujiangyan region of Sichuan Province is one of the famous "Native longevity places" named by Chinese governments. There are many old people with the age over 90 years. A study was carded on to investigate the characters of food choice and eating behaviors, to assess nutrition status and its affected factors for the longevities of this area. 867 longevities were surveyed coming from 21 villages in Dujiangyan district in Sichuan Province. The data on their food choice and diet behavior were collected with questionnaires. The nutrition-related biochemical indicators, andbody weight and height were measured and assessed. mass index (BMI) was calculated. Nutrition status of subjects was evaluated by the method of MNA. And based on these data, the affected factors of nutrition status were analyzed .The results were as followingThe results showed that most of the longevities in this region consumed three meals a day, with fixed dinner time, and with "slow" or "moderate" eating velocity. Most of them had breakfast every day and hadn't eaten too much per meal. They consumed vegetables a lot instead of meat. Their diet was light and cooked mainly by steaming. Most of them had never taken any nutritional supplements and had the same diet preparation with their families. Their staple food was rice. More than 95% of the longevities ate vegetables every day, and over one-third of the longevities consumed pork, beef or lamb. However, food consuming frequency for fruits, poultry, fish and shrimp, milk and milk products, beans and bean products and nuts was lower. This study found that the average contents of TC, TG, LDL-C and HDL-C were 4.15mmol/L, 1.24mmol/L, 2.25mmol/L and 1.58mmol/L respectively in the longevities. Those of female were all higher than those of male. By recommended standard of Chinese adult, in the longevities normal rate of TC, TG, HDL-C and LDL-C were 92.3%, 82.9%, 70.0% and 49.4% respectively. The average content of Hb was 113.2g/L, and that of men was higher than that of women. The anemia morbidity was 76.5% which 71.1% of them were mild anemia. The average value of BMI for the longevities was 19.30. BMI of 45.1% of them were less than 18.5, 49.7% were from 18.5 to 24.9 and 5.2% were more than 25.With the method the MNA, the results showed that the average scores of MNA were 22.7 and the range from 14.5 to 28.5 among the longevities. 35.1% of them were at good nutrition condition. 63.6% were at the edge of malnutrition, and 1.3% were malnourished. Results of multiple-regression analysis showed that the possible affected factors for the longevities nutritional status were as followed, the eating frequencies of aquatic products (β=0.094), oil (β=0.107) and stable (β=0.110), eating three meals a day (β=0.133), having not ate too much per meal (β=0.110) and with light taste (β=-0.102), having tea (β=0.131), age (β=-0.19), education (β=0.10), BMI value (β=0.104), the number of living teeth (β=0.115) and self-evaluation of health (β=-0.111). The higher of the eating frequencies of aquatic products and oil, educational level, BMI values, the more of number of living teeth and the better of the self-evaluation of health, the better of the nutrition status of the longevities. The longevities with three meals a day, having not eaten too much per meal, with light taste or having tea had better nutrition status than other longevities:...
