AIM: To find a method that computer can help find hematoma focus and compute the volume of hematomae.METHODS: First use threshold value segmentation to skull image. Second do"close"operation to it . Third do"fill"operation to get a brain mask, and use it to dot multiply the origin CT image to get brain image. Fourth use"region growing"method to get suspicious hemorrhage area, then use some regulation to get most conceivable area and compute the volume.RESULTS: For the hemorrhage in the endbrain white matter, this method works well, 16 cases can find the right hemorrhage focus. For Subtotal hemorrhage and Extradural Hemorrhage, the focus will be leave out. For chronic subdural hematoma, because it's CT value is low than common hemorrhage, this method can't find out the focus. For the hemorrhage in the cerebellum and brainstem, this method can't work well, some focus will be leave out.CONCLUSION: The method is simply and intuitionistic, and has good effect to find the hemorrhage in endbrain white matter.
