The Investigation Of The Anxiety Patients' Behavior Of Seeking Medical Advice

ObjectiveInvestigate the behavior of seeking medical advice and relative reasons in patients with anxiety in order to improve the rates of its early diagnosis, effect of treatment and hospital construction.Methods85 patients were collected at the first affiliated hospital of Chongqing medical university, then their behavior of seeking medical advice was analyzed after they answered our questionnaire surveys. There were two groups: one selected non-psychiatric hospital and the other selected psychiatric hospital.Results1. Among the 85 patients, of 62 patients (72.9%) had their first medical visit at the non-psychiatric hospital, other 23 patients (27.1%) had their first medical visit at the psychiatric hospital. Among the 62 patients, of 16 patients (25.8%) had their first medical visit at the psychiatric department, other 46 patients (74.2%) had their first medical visit at the non-psychiatric department. 2. Significant differences between the patients with different character of their diseases, different distance from the selected hospital were found in selecting hospital. No Significant differences between the patients with different sex, character, qualifications, hobbies were found in selecting hospital. 3. Significant differences between the patients with different education were found in getting the information of how to select hospital.ConclusionMore patients had their first medical visit at the psychiatric department of general hospital. The patients of different clinic symptom, different distance between their home and the hospital and different methods to get the information were chose the different hospitals. But no significant differences between the patients with different sex, character, qualifications, hobbies were found in selecting hospital. So it is very necessary to popularize mental medical knowledge, intensify propaganda, improve the medical quality, etc.
