Epidemiology Of Metabolic Syndrome In Uygur,Han Of Xinjiang

Objective:To investigate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome(MBS)and its components in Uygur,Han nationalities(≥50years)of xinjiang,and select high risk population.Methods:The participants were1187 Uygur(men521and women 666)and 1948 Han nationalities(men 879 and women 1069),with the methods of random sample from Xinjiang of China,subjects respectively in Uygur,Han were planed to attend the waist circumference,hypertension,hyperglycemia,blood-fat abnormality epidemiology in south and north of xinjiang.Statistical analysis with SPSS software package.Results: (1)Morbid(waist circumference,male≥90cm,female≥80cm):uygur and han's total morbid 32.85%(malc 25.14%,female39.07%,P＜0.05),Han 27.7%(male 22.53%female 32.09%,P＜0.05);Uygur 41.03%(male29.60%female 50.30%,P＜0.05).(2)Morbid of obesity(waist circumference,male≥90cm,female≥80cm):Uygur 59.6%,Han 50.6% (P＜0.05);Hypertension(SBP≥130 or DBP≥85mmHg):Uygur 57.9%,Han 58.6% (P＞0.05);Hyperglycemia(FPG≥5.6mmol/L)Uygur 37.8%,Han 32.4%(P＜0.05); Blood-fat abnormality(TG>l.7mmoi/L,low of high-density lipoprotein(male＜0.9 female＜1.1mmol/L))Uygur 28.7%,Han 39.3%(P＜0.05).(3)Every age's prevalence of MBS,50-59:Uygur 33.02%,Han 23.59%;60-69:Uygur 36.50%,Han 34.44%;≥70:Uygur 27.65%,Han 28.30%.Conclusion:(1)The prevalence of MBS is high among Uygur,Han in Xinjiang,especially in uygur women.(2)Morbid of obesity: Uygur＞Han,especially in Uygur women;Hyperglycemia:Uygur＞ban;Blood-fat abnormality:Han＞Uygur.(3)The prevalence of MBS is highest from 60 to 69.
