Objective: To analyze the short-term local therapeutic efficacy, complication and side-effect of hepatic carcinoma and hepatic metastases treated by rediofrequency ablation(RFA). Methods: RFA was performed on 28 tumors in 23 patients, the result was evaluated by applying plain and double-phase spiral CT scanning. Results: 23 cases were treated successfully, the complete coagulative necrosis rate was 81.8%,66.7%,20.0% and 0%, respectively in tumors with diameter of less than 3.0cm, 3.1~4.0cm, 4.1~5.0cm and large than 5.1cm after 1~5 months CT scan follow-up. Conclusion: (1) RFA has slight damage and good effect in the therapy of hepatocarcinoma (2) The altered ultrasonic image indicated the blood stream the inactivation of tumor was verified .(3)ultrasonic view not only pilots operation of RFA accurately , but also has important value in the evaluation of postperation effect (4)therapeutic effect in the near future were satisfied with clinic symptom improved and existing time prolonged. RFA is a effective, safe and reliable method in the treatment of liver tumor.
