The bacterial resistance to antibiotics is ubiquitous with regard to its tendency of development, from bacterium itself. It shows the tendency from single resistance to multi-drug resistance, from low rate of resistance to high rate of resistance, and the speed of development is more and more fast in recent years. The baumanii resistance shows upgrade tendency overall, and the persister increases rapidly as well as multi-drug resistance because of widely use even abuse of antibiotics. To survey epidemiologically on Acinetobacter baumannii in nosocomial infections and change of resistance, and to study the risk factors of the infections. To choose the effective antibacterials correctly, the retrospective analysis of Acinetobacter baumannii in nosocomial infections and the resistance of thirteen antibacterials was made in the area of TAI ZHOU in one year. Objective: To epidemiologically survey on Acinetobacter baumannii in nosocomial infections and change of resistance .To choose the effective antibaeterials correctly, and to study the risk factors of the nosocomial pneumonia infections. Methods: 116 strains of Acinetobacter baumannii isolated from two general hospitals were collected in the area of TAI ZHOU from January 2006 to December 2006,. Bacterial identification were carried out using GNI card of VITEK32. The minimal inhibitory concentrations(MICs) of these strains were detected by GNS card. Bacterial susceptibility testing were carried out by the method. The resistant rate, intermediate rate and susceptibility rate of drugs were calculated according to National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards in 2005. The data were analyzed with WHONET 5.4 software what were provided from monitoring network of bacterial resistant in World Health Organization. 45 patients with A. baumanii in nosocomial pneumonia in TAI ZHOU were surveyed, and were performed to identify risk factors by a case control comparison.Result:1. The A. baumanii infections associated morbidity was high (3.93‰)in TAI ZHOU, mainly take place in ICU, department of cerebral surgery, department of respiratory medicine and department of geriatrics, particularly in ICU and department of cerebral surgery.Except imipenem and sulperazone, the rates of A. baumanii resistance to any other antibiotics were over 50% in vitro susceptibility testing.2. By calculating, Risk factors were: state of an illness, icu, immunosuppressant usage, incision of trachea or intubation tube, treatment with more than 3 kinds of antibiotics.Conclusion:1.There was highly morbidity of A. baumanii nosocomial infections and nosocomial pneumonia infections in hospital in the area of TAI ZHOU.2. In TAI ZHOU the baumanii resistentance is serious by the analysis of drug resistance, and the resistance to A. baumanii is widespread to the major groups of antibiotics. The drug resistance to carbopenems was partial high in TAI ZHOU.3. The sensitivity of A.baumanii to antibacterials is diffenent due to the diffenent hospital, department and the location of the infection. A. baumanii nosocomial pneumonia associated morbidity in TAI ZHOU is highest and it mainly take place in ICU, department of cerebral surgery, department of burn surgery and department of respiratory medicine.4. Risk factors of nosocomial pneumonia with A. baumanii were associated with severe illness, ICU,imrnunosuppressant usage, incision of trachea or intubation tube, and treatment with antibiotics.
