A Comparative Study Of The Clinic Results Of The High Ligation Of Spermatic Vein Under The Small Incisal Opening Of The Meta Abdominal Membrane And The High Ligation Of Spermatic Vein Under The Laparoscope For Varicocele

Objective: To compare with the high ligation of spermatic vein under the small incisal opening of the meta abdominal membrane and the high ligation of spermatic vein under the laparoscope. Methods: The clinical data of 158 cases of patients with the varicocele were retrospectively reviewed. The statistics of the selective operating method had complied with the principle of the whole random allocation, the group of operation was compared with the group of laparoscope in the operating time, the postoperative days and the cost of hospitalization. A total of 158 patients who were diagnosed with varicocele from May 2002 to October 2006 in our hospitals were collected, simple side occupied 98 patients, double sides occupied 60 patients,years of age were from 11 to 67, the chief complaints were the damp , distend and pain scrotum. All of the patients had had a health examination and color Doppler examination, the health examinations of varicocele appeared from Grade II to Grade IV, the inner diameters of varicoceles by color Doppler examination were measured from 2.5mm to 7.6mm. The patients of varicocele were divided into two groups which included simple side and double sides. Simple side was divided into group I (52)which were underwent by the small incisal opening of the meta abdominal membrane and group II (46)which were underwent by the laparoscope; double sides were divided into group I (32)which were underwent by the small incisal opening of the meta abdominal membrane and group II (28)which were underwent by the laparoscpe. Results: Comparing with the group of operation and the group of laparoscope among the varicocele patients of the single side or the double side, there was not statistical significance in the operating time (p>0. 05), there was statistical significance in the postoperative days and the cost of hospitalization (p<0. 05). Conclusions: When the varicoceles of the double sides were simultaneously ligated , the high ligation of spermatic vein under the laparoscope was the best selection; if the varicocele of the only single side was highly ligated or the patients were unconditional or the patients were not fit for laparoscopic operation, the high ligation of spermatic vein under the small incisal opening of meta abdominal membrane was the best operating method.
