Objective: To investigate the clinical evaluation of Shu Tong Ling treating dysmenorrhea caused by endometriosis, and the symptoms analysis of patients in the menstrual and non-menstrual. Methods: 66 patients who have been diagnosed with endometriosis TCM Syndrome Diagnostic Criteria included in the study. 35 patients who took Shu Tong Ling were treating group. 31 cases who used the subcutaneous injection were control guoup. Three months later, observing the symptoms improvement of dysmenorrhea in menstrual and non-menstrual. Results: The Comparation of overall efficacy of endometriosis between treatment group and control group, the total effective rate were 85.71% and 90.32% respectively, there was no statistically difference (P> 0.05). The total effect was considerable; in the treatment of symptoms of dysmenorrhea, there was no significant statistically difference between the two groups (P=0.13), indicating a considerable efficacy of the two groups; Comparation within the two groups own respectively have statistical significance. Improve perimenstrual symptoms in the two groups, patients perimenstrual symptoms after treatment, in order to alleviate lower abdominal pain, low back pain, defecation pain symptoms after two statistical data X~2, there was no significant difference in the treatment and control groups in order to alleviate lower abdominal pain, low back pain, defecation considerable pain symptoms. However, there were statistically significant difference in alleviating menstrual period nausea, headache symptoms between the two groups. P values were 0.03 and 0.02 respectively, which shows patients of treating group in alleviating nausea menstrual and symptoms of headache were better than the control group. Comparing non-menstrual symptoms in the two groups, in alleviating lower abdominal pain, low back pain, defecation pain , intercourse pain and. invasive pain symptoms ,there were statistically significant difference by X~2 between the two groups (P<0.05). It showed that patients treated at non-menstrual symptom was better than control group. Conclusion : The effect of Shu Tong Ling was good in treating dysmenorrhea pain caused by endometriosis, and there was obviously advantages improving symptoms in menstrual and non-menstrual. There were only two cases who had side effects after using Shu Tong Ling, compared with the control group was significantly lower incidence of side effects.
