Objective: to observe the effects of Panax on decreasing bloodsugar and clarify itsmechanisms.Methods: The rats were divided into 6 grougs. normal control (NCG).Diabeticcontrol (DCG).medicine control (MCG0.15g/kg) and experimental (Panax 0.6g/kg,0.3g/kg,0.15g/kg).The experimental period was 4weeks. By the rats of experimentaldiabets induced by STZ by the methods of control, fast blood sugar and fast blood fat(FBF),SOD,MDA,GSH,CAT secretion were measured before and afterexperiment and observed pancreas islet B cell,liver,kidney.Results: The resultes of biochemcal measurement showed that Panax hadsignificant effect of decreasing FBS and FBF on diabetic rat (compared large,middledose with moddle dose P<0.01 Panax cab increase the activity of SOD: anddecrease the amount of MDA. The result of morphyology pancrease islet B cellSABC reactiong showed that it could restore the histology strcture of damagedpancrease islet B cell;PAS reaction of hepatic tissue that it could increase the disposalof glucose: Panax can restore the histology structure of damaged kidney.Conclusion: Panax had significant effect of decreasing FBS and FBF on diabeticrats: Panax can inrease the activity of SOD in STZ-diabetes: Panax can decreased theamount of MDA; Panax could restore the histology srtructure of damaged pancreasislet B cells; PAS reaction of hepatic tissue that it could increase the disposal ofglucose: Panax can restore the histology structrue of damaged kidney.
