Objective: To measure the relationship between responses of blood pressure to exercise stress and high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP),function of endothelium dependent vasodilatation.Method: 48 normal blood pressure subjects and 54 hypertension subjects were studied. Exercise stress test was assessed by Exercise Stress System after 15-min rest. Blood pressure (BP) was measured before exercise, at the time of exercise and at 6 minutes after exercise. Every group were divided into two semi-groups based on exaggerated BP and normal BP to exercise text according to definition. HsCRP were measured with turbidimetry and function of endothelium dependent vasodilatation was assessed in the brachial artery by high-resolution ultrasound technique in the same day or next day . Basic inside diameter of brachial artery was measured and the mean of three data (D0) was recorded. Basic inside diameter of brachial artery was measured again after pressure raising by inflation. And the mean of three data (D1) was recorded again. The percent of the change of inside diameter between before and after inflation to basic inside diameter was measured, which represents function of endothelium dependent vasodilatation. We compared and analyzed :(1) The relationship of hsCRP,FMD% between normal blood pressure (group N) and hypertension (group H) .(2)The relationship of hsCRP,FMD% between two semi-groups in group N .(3) The relationship of hsCRP,FMD% between two semi-groups in group H .Result: (1) Compared with group N, group H has significant increase in hsCRP( P < 0. 01) and significant decrease in FMD%( P < 0. 01), however, there is no significant difference of D0 and D1 in both two groups .( 2)In group N, compared with normal blood pressure to exercise test (group A), exaggerated BP to exercise test (group B) has significant difference at smoke, drink and parental history of hypertension . Compared with before exercise stress , there was significant increase of systolic BP(SBP) in both group A and group B after exercise stress ( P < 0.001) .compared with group A, the increase in group B was much higher (P < 0. 001). However , there was significant increase of diastolic BP(DBP) only in group B (P < 0. 05) ,and there was no significant increase in group A after exercise stress. There was no significant difference of BP in both group A and group B between 6 minutes after and before exercise stress. Compared with group A, hsCRP has significantly increased in group B ( P < 0. 05) ,and FMD% has significantly decreased ( P < 0. 05) .There is no significant difference of D0 and D1 in both two semi groups . (3)In group H, compared with before exercise stress, there was significant increase of SBP( P < 0. 001) and DBP ( P < 0. 05)in both normal blood pressure to exercise test (group C) and exaggerated BP to exercise test (group D) after exercise stress ,and compared with group C, the increase in group D was much higher (P < 0. 001). There was no significant difference of BP in both two semi groups between 6 minutes after and before exercise stress. Compared with group C, hsCRP has significantly increased in group D ( P < 0. 05) ,and FMD% has significantly decreased (P < 0. 05). There is no significant difference of D0 and D1 in both two semi groups. Conclusion: Blood pressure response to exercise is related to hsCRP and FMD%, that showed inflammation reaction and function of endothelium dependent vasodilatation concerned with occurrence and development of hypertension. As a new predict index, it has invaluable function to treatment and prediction of hypertension.
