Objective To study the expression of somatostatin receptor subtypes SSTR1,2,5in human colorectal cancers and normal tissues and discuss the relationship between the expression and characteristics of the tumor. Methods 40 specimens of human colorectal cancers and normal tissues were taken in patients who suffered colorectal cancers.Immunohistochemistry technique was used to demonstrate somatostatin receptor subtypes SSTR1,2,5 expression. The relationship between the expression rate of somatostatin receptor subtypes and the clinicopathological parameters was analyzed. Results the antibodies sperifically detected the receptors in in human colorectal cancers and normal tissues,The expression rate of somatostatin receptor of subtypel,subtype2 and subtype5 in the specimens of colorectal cancers was 82.5%(33/40),67.5%(27/40)与52.5 %(21/40),The expression rate of 40 normal tissue was 92.5%(37/40),85%(34/40)与80.0 %(32/40),there was no significant differences of SSTR1 expression between the two group(P>0.05).there was significant differences of SSTR2,SSTR5 expression between the two group (P<0.05),SSTR1 was the predominant SSTR subtype in colorectal cancer, there was no significant differences of SSTR expression rate between sex, age, tumor size, location, the expression of SSTR 1,SSTR5 was related to the tumor stage and tumor differentiation ((P<0.05).Conclusion somatostatin receptor subtypes is expressed in human colorectal cancers and normal tissues,SSTR1 was the predominant SSTR subtype in colorectal cancer, there was significant differences of SSTR expression rate between tumor stage and tumor differentiation. learn the expression of SSTR in human colorectal cancers,SSTA that has a high affinity somatostatin receptor should be chosen to treat colorectal cancer.
