Objective: To explore the co-relationship between serum of CD44v6, VEGF ,sIL-2R and clinical features in patients with head and neck neoplasms . To evaluate the prognostic value of serum CD44v6, VEGF and sIL-2R in patients with head and neck neoplasms. Methods: Fifty-six cases patients with malignant and benign head and neck tumors had been diagnosed by histopathologic methods . ELISA quantitative analysis were used to determine the serum level of CD44v6, VEGF and sIL-2R in these patients and eighteen healthy controls. Results: 1. Preoperative Detection of the serum level of CD44v6, VEGF and sIL-2R in patients with malignant head and neck tumors and healthy controls, patients with benign head and neck tumors, were under the detectable level. That the serum level of CD44v6, VEGF and sIL-2R in patients with malignant head and neck tumors significantly greater than in the healthy controls, patients with benign head and neck tumors, but the serum level of CD44v6, VEGF and sIL-2R in healthy controls and patients with benign head and neck tumors were not detected. There were not significant different between healthy controls and patients with benign head and neck tumors in the serum level of CD44v6, VEGF and sIL-2R.2. Preoperative Detection of the serum level of CD44v6, VEGF and sIL-2R in patients with thyroid cancer and healthy controls, patients with benign thyroid tumors, and with laryngeal cancer and healthy controls, patients with polyp of vocal cord, were under the detectable level. but the serum level of CD44v6, VEGF and sIL-2R in healthy controls and patients with benign thyroid tumors and polyp of vocal cord were not detected.3. Preoperative Detection of the serum level of CD44v6, VEGF and sIL-2R in patients with lymph node metastasis of malignant head and neck tumors and without lymph node metastasis of malignant head and neck tumors, were under the detectable level. Conclusion: 1 .CD44v6,VEGF and sIL-2R maybe contribute to malignant head and neck tumors formation.2 CD44v6,VEGF and sIL-2R maybe contribute to lymph node metastasis of malignant head and neck tumors.3.Detection of the serum level of CD44v6, VEGF and sIL-2R provides a new approach with high sensitivity and specificity for differential diagnosis of malignant and benign head and neck tumors, malignant and benign thyroid tumors , laryngeal cancer and polyp of vocal cord .4. Combined detection increase detection specificity, but the sensitivity is reduced.5. It has certain clinical significance to measure CD44v6,VEGF and sIL-2R expression. The antibody to CD44v6,VEGF and sIL-2R may be used to decrease the invasive ability of tumor cells and provide a new therapeutic target for head and neck cancer.6. All these concept provides a new idea for head and neck cancer diagnosis, treatment.
