Objective:Tinnitus is very popular in the people. We studied the characteristics of middle ear muscle reflexes, acoustic emission in patients with complaints of tinnitus explored causes of tinnitus and evaluated clinical value in diagnosis of the patients with tinnitus. Methods:We evaluated 25 patients(42ears)with tinnitus. The inclusion criterion that was to have thresholds of 25 dB or less in each frequency at tonal audiometry.28 patients(43 ears) with tinnitus and nerve deafness,The inclusion criterion that was to have thresholds of 25 to 50 dB in each frequency at tonal audiometry.Tone and loudness of tinnitus,Extended high frequency audiomery,DPOAE,TEOAE were performed in each patient respectively,History of occupational noise exposition was eliminated. Results:The incidences of DPOAE,TEOAE in study group were85.7%,46.9%and 71.4%,53.1%.The incidences of each frequency in extended high frequency audiomery were 81%,81%,63%and 63%,57%,27%.To research all the ears, the DPOAE's amplitudes of B and C groups are lower than the normal group, and the consistency between high frequency of DPOAE and extended high frequency audiomery test is obviously. Conclusion:These results suggest that OAE could reflect cochlear lesion in earlystage. The functional examination of cochlear and extended high frequency audiomery test were used as important diagnostic tests for patients with tinnitus and normal hearing, and might be helpful for the location diagnosis of neurosensory tinnitus.
