| ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of uvuplopalatopharyngoplasty on change of serum erythropoieitin (EPO) levels, RBC, density of HGB, hematocrit (HCT), mean corpuscular hemoglobin(MCH) in patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) treatment.MethodsFifty-nine patients with OSAHS diagnose by polysomnography were treated through uvuplopalatopharyngoplasty. Standardization of evaluation was made by composition. Preoperative and postoperative serum erythropoieitin levels were collected. Survey were made in apnea hypopnea index (AHI), body mass index(BMI), RBC, HGB, hematocrit (HCT), mean cor- puscular hemoglobin(MCH).Statistical Analysis: A paired t-test and two independent sample t-test was used to determine the difference between the clinical group and the control group. Linear relativity was analyzed between EPO and HGB.ResultsThe result of follow-up in the near future: disappearance of the snoring 3 1cases, obvious improvement 14 cases, improvement 7 cases, varianceless 7 cases, effective ratio 88.1%; disappearance of the daytime sleep 38 cases, obvious improvement 13 cases, improvement 7 cases, varianceless 1 cases, effective ratio 98.3%; disappearance of the apnea 48 cases, appearance of the apnea 11 cases, effective ratio81.4%. The result of follow-up in the long term:disappearance of the snoring 18 cases, obvious improvement 20 cases, improvement 6 cases, varianceless 15 cases, effective ratio 74.6%; disappearance of the daytime sleep 25 cases, obvious improvement 19 cases, improvement 5 cases, varianceless 10 cases, effective ratio 83.1%; disappear-rance of the apnea 44 cases, appearance of the apnea 15 cases, effective ratio 74.6%.The preoperative EPO, RBC, HGB, HCT, MCH were significant than postoperative patients and normal adults (P<0.01) .But the level of postoperative patients had no significant than those (P>0.01) .There was positive correlation between EPO and HGB in preoperation or post-operation.ConclusionThe hypoxemia and hypercapnia in night resulted in high level of EPO in OSAHS patients. It were correlate with AHI. The uvuplopalatopharyngoplasty was efficacious in treatment of OSAHS. The levels of EPO and adverse effect were decreased through efficacious treatment. |
