Objective: To establish the Regional Norm of Guangdong Province of Psychological TraumaImpact Questionnaire (PTIQ) in general populations over 15 years-old on the basis of proviouswork.Method: A small homogenous sample was selected and pretest, to estimate the minimalsample size of the morm population. By the hierarchy sampling method, a sample, consistingof 658 subjects from general population and 80 patients with stress disorder, was abtained.Thegeneral group included 339 women and 319 men, aging 15 to 89 years, mean age 38.16±17.18years. The stress group consists of 42 women and 38 men, aging 18 to 67 years, mean age42.76±11.98 years. The intraclass correlation coefficients of tester-tester and the test-retestreliability were used to measure the reliability of the scale. The validity analysis includedcontent and criterion validity. The regional norms of PTIQ were established in generalpopulation of Guangdong Province according to cities/countryside, different ages, sexes, andeducation levels. Its patterns included raw-score, percentile, linearity Z score, linearity T score, ordinary state Z score and ordinary state T score. Results: (1) Tester-tester reliability showed that the correlation coefficients were all above0.9 (P<0.001). The test-retest reliability coefficients of the whole questionnaire and factoreswere 0.886 and 0.931~0.976 (P<0.001). (2) The correlation coefficients were 0.513~0.718between the total scores and each factor's (P<0.01). (3) The correlation coefficient of criterionvalidity was 0.463 between PTIQ and IES-R, and each factor's is 0.092~0.493. And thecorrelation coefficients were 0.463, 0.444, 0.364 and 0.401 respectively between PTIQ's totalscores and IES-R's total scores, intrusion factor, escape factor, and vigilance facor, showingsignificant positive correlations. The correlation coefficients were 0.279, 0.447 and 0.165respectively between PTIQ's and IES-T's vigilance/anxiety factors, intrusive experiencefactors, defensive escape factors, showing significant positive correlation (P<0.01). (4)Comparison between the healthy group and the patients with stress disorder showed that eachfactor's scores and the scale's total scores of the stress disorder group were significantly higher than the healthy group's (P<0.001). (5) Sex difference study finds that women's sleepingfactor's scores and the scale's total scores are significantly higher than man's (P<0.05). (6)There are differences without significance in ages, cities/countryside and education levels. (7)The regional norms of PTIQ have been established in Guangdong Province's cities/countrysidein different level of areas, ages, genders and education levels. Conclusion: The tester-tester and test-retest reliability are proven to be good. The contentand the criterion validity are satisfied. The data suggested that the sample of population, in thisstudy, had regional demograhphy characteristic and satisfing representativeness. The regionalnorms of PTIQ was established in the general population of Guangdong Province.
