| Purpose: to observe the clinical effectiveness of Decoction-Geqi for treating exudative age-related macular degeneration.Methods: according to the research of the Second National Eyeground Illness Work Shop Forum of Eyeground Illness Group of Ophthalmology community of C.M.A, the Senile Macular Degeneration Clinical Diagnosis Standard was made. Using the researching method of ran inanopsis comparison, we picked up 51 patients (63 eyes) diagnosed as exudative AMD and the subjects were divided into two groups, a Treatment Group which included 26 cases (32 eyes) and a Control Group which included 25 cases (31eyes), aged 53 to 86 without gender limit. It was required that all the patients suffered from no other oculopathy illness or hyperpiesia or diabetes which might result in eyes abnormality and systemic disease and the course of disease lasted for 1m—0.5 year. In the treating process, the Treatment Group took Decoction- Geqi and the Control Group took the Blood Vessel Block Deoppilation Capsule,Ginaton and used the Stulln Ocular Humor to make eyedrop application. The treatment course lasted for 3 months. The researching purpose is to observe the change of the patients' vision and eyeground and the condition of FFA,ICGA and multifocalelectroretinogram after the treatment.Results: (1) as for vision, the difference of the sight before and after treatment in the Treatment Group had statistics meaning (p<0.01), and so did the Control Group (p<0.05). The comparison of the vision before and after the treatment had statistics meaning (p<0.05) , and the Treatment Group overmatch the Control Group.(2) as for eyeground, the comparing difference of the two groups had statistics meaning, and the Treatment Group overmatch the Control Group(p<0.05).(3) After the treatment, the comparison of the FFA and ICGA of the two groups had statistics meaning(p<0.05), and the Treatment Group overmatch the Control Group.(4) The comparison of the medical effectiveness of the two groups had statistics meaning(p<0.05), and the Treatment Group overmatch the Control Group.(5) multifocalelectroretinogram: the incubation period of the second and third annuli of P1 Deflection in the Treatment Group became Obviously shorter(p<0.05), but the annuli in the Control Group had no obvious change. The amplitude density of annuli 1-4 of PI Deflection in both groups increased obviously (p<0.05). The amplitude density of annuli 1, 2, 3 of P1 Deflection of the Treatment Group improved better than that of the Control Group. After the treatment, the incubation period of the Annuli 2 and 3 of N1 Deflection became obviously shorter (p<0.01), but the Annuli 3 in the Treatment Group overmatch the Control Group (p<0.05).Conclusions: Decoction- Geqi has excellent effectiveness for treating age-related macular degeneration and the effectiveness overmatch that of the Control Group.
