Objective To survey genus Acanthamoeba in both domestictap water and mineral water in Yanji city of China. And tosurvey Acanthamoeba contamination of contact lens storagecases, lens case solution.Methods 77 domestic tap water samples and 26 mineralwater samples, was cultured one week with heated inactivatedE. coli treated 1.5ï¼…non-nutrient agar plate and PYG. 95 bothcontact lens storage cases, lens case solution was detectedwas cultured one week with heated inactivated E. coli treated1.5ï¼…non-nutrient agar plate and PYG.Results The Acanthamoeba, another free-living Amoeba,fungus, were isolated from 39.81ï¼…(41/103), 6.80ï¼…(7/103),5.82ï¼…(6/103) of all water samples, respectively.Acanthamoeba, another free-living Amoeba, fungus,Acaonthamoeba and fungus were isolated from 42.86ï¼…(33/77),6.49ï¼…(5/77),6.49ï¼…(5/77),1.30ï¼…(1/77) of domestic tap watersamples, respectively. And also were isolated from 26.92ï¼…(7/26),7.69ï¼…(2/26),0ï¼…(0/26),0ï¼…(0/26) of mineral watersamples, respectively.From one of 95 (1.05ï¼…)contact lens storage cases, lens casesolution were isolated Acanthamoeba.Conclusions From both domestic tap water and mineralwater detected Acanthamoeba contamination. Acanhtamoebacontamination of domestic tap water was higher than mineralwater. From contact lens storage cases, lens case solutionalso isolated Acanthamoeba.
