Aim To study the correlation of resting heart rate(RHR)and high sensitivity C reactive protein(hs-CRP),endothel(ET),the markers of target organ damage[such as left ventricle ejection fraction(LVEF),left ventricular mass index(LVMI),microamount albumin of urine (MAU),endogenous creatinine clearance rate(Ccr)]in patients with essential hypertension and search for the possible mechanisms. Methods 192 patients, including 104 men and 88 women, have been diagnosed exactly as essential hypertension. All these patients had been divided into 3 groups in accordance with RHR:RHR1≤69bpm,70bpm≤RHR2≤79bpm,RHR3≥80bpm,and fasting plasma glucose (FPG),blood-grease[Triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC)],hs-CRP,fibrinogen (Fib),ET-1,white blood cell(WBC)count,LVEF,LVMIwere performed. The examined results of different groups' made contrast and correlation each other.Results(1)The comparison between RHR and blood pressure, sugar and grease metabolism:In RHR3 SBP had statistical significance compared with the above markers in RHR1, RHR2,In RHR2 and RHR3,TC had statistical significance compared with the above markers in RHR1.In RHR3,FPG had statistical significance compared with the above markers in RHR1 TG had statistical significance in these respective groups(P<0.05 or P<0.001).Correlation analysis showed that SBP,FPG,TG correlated positively to RHR,their correlation coefficient r = 0.750,0.414,0.162 respectively(P<0.001 or P<0.05).(2)The comparison between RHR and hs-CRP,Fib,ET-1,WBC count:hs-CRP,ET-1 had statistical significance in these respective groups(P<0.01).In RHR3 and RHR2,Fib had statistical significance compared with the above markers in RHR1,Correlation analysis showed that hs-CRP,Fib,ET-1 correlated positively to RHR,their correlation coefficient r=0.390,0.315,0.661 respectively(P<0.001);WBC count was not distinguished different(P>0.05).(3)RHR of the hypertensive patients' with high blood sugar had faster resting heart rate than the RHR of the hypertensive patients' without high blood sugar. The two groups had statistical significance(P<0.05).(4)The comparison between RHR and target organ damage:LVMI,LVMI MAU,Ccr had statistical significance in these respective groups(all P<0.01).LVMI,MAU increased with the RHR,Correlation analysis showed that LVMI,MAU correlated positively to RHR,their correlation coefficient r =0.556,0.576 respectively(all P<0.01);and LVEF,Ccr decreased with the RHR,LVEF,Ccr correlated negatively to RHR,their correlation coefficient r =-0.632,-0.510(all P<0.01). Conclusion:The RHR of the patients with essential hypertension were fast, and RHR was correlated to the level of blood pressure, the metabolism of sugar and grease,hs-CRP, ET-1,target organ damage. The fast RHR may have the relations with autonomic imbalance of the sympathetic system.RHR may be the independent risk factor of essential hypertension.
