| Objective: To investigate ocular anterior segment changes afterphacomulsification and intraocular lens implantation with OrbscanⅡAnterior Segment Analysis System. Methods: This clinical study was prospectively self-controlledconsecutive comparative trial. Twenty-eight eyes of 28 patients with thediagnosis of age-related cataract were included in this study. All thepatients were treated with phacoemulsification and implantation of aintraocular lens through 3.2-3.5mm against clear corneal incision.OrbscanⅡwas performed preoperatively and 1 week postoperatively tocompare the anterior segment changes in different time. The parameterswere analyzed including corneal surface power, corneal astigmatism, corneal irregularity (Irreg value),the distance between the culminatedpoint of posterior corneal surface and best fit sphere (Diff value), cornealthickness, anterior chamber depth and anterior chamber angle. Results: 1. There was a significant difference (P<0.05) in the nakedvisual acuity.2. Total astigmatism, astigmatism in anterior comeal surface, totalIrreg value, Irreg value in anterior corneal surface between 3mm and5mm area and refractive power in posterior surface corneal 3mm area,Diff value in posterior corneal surface showed a significant difference (P <0.05); Total refractive power, refractive power in anterior surfacecorneal, astigmatism in posterior surface corneal and Irreg value between3mm and 5mm area and the refractive power in posterior surface corneal5mm area showed no statistically significant difference.3. The anterior chamber depth and the anterior chamber angle ineight directions showed a statistically significant difference (P<0.05)4. Total corneal thickness in five areas showed a significantdifference (P<0.05)Conclusions: 1. After phacomulsification corneal astigmatism andIrreg value increased; The anterior chamber depth increased and anteriorchamber anguli in eight directions were wider; Total corneal thickness infive areas increased.2.OrbscanⅡAnterior Segment Analysis System is helpful fordocumenting ocular anterior segment changes after phacomulsi-ficationwith intraocular lens implantation. |
