Objective: To investigate the therapeutic efficacy of the sodiumalginate in experimental Membranous nephropathy. Methods: A total of 30 male SD rats weighting 180g-200g wereused in my study. Rats were divided randomly into three groups. N:normal group (n=6); P: patient group (n=7); T1: treatment group 1(n=7);T2: treatment group 1(n=8). MN was induced in rats of P and T groups byintravenous administration of C-BSA. After the establishment of model, the therapy of low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) was given to therats T1 group, and sodium alginate was given to the T2 group. Rats wereeuthanized at the 8th experimental week. 24-hour urinary total protein(U-TP), serum urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine (Cr), albumin (ALB),triglyceride (TG), and total cholesterol (TC) at the end of 4th and 8thexperimental week were tested in each group.Result:â‘ Proteinuria was observed in P, T1 and T2 groups at the endof 4th week, while relieved significantly at the end of 8th week in the T1and T2 groups. Quantitative analysis showed significant differencesbetween treatment groups and P group. No significance was found between T1 and T2 groups.â‘¡No significance of serum Cr levels wasfound among all groups. Serum TG and TC concentration increasemarkedly in P, T1 and T2 groups when compared with N group. SerumALB concentration in P, T1 and T2 groups was lower thean in N group. No significant difference in levels of TG was seen between treatmentgroups and P group. Levels of TC is lower in treatment groups thanwhat in P group. ALB levels is higher in treatment groups than that in Pgroup, with no significant difference betweet T1 and T2 group. Conclusions:â‘ sodium alginate had the effects of reducing urinaryprotein excerion, improving hypedipoidemia and hypoproteinemia.â‘¡There is no obvious distinction between AGS and LMWH in the effectsimproving hyperlipoidemia.
