Effect Of Embedding Thread At Pishu (BL 20) An Shenshu (BL 23) On Bone Mass Density And Pain In The Female Of Primary Osteoporosis

Objective: To observe the effect of embedding thread at Pishu(BL 20) and Shenshu(BL23) on bone mass density(BMD) and pain in the female of primary osteoporosis.Methods: 40 female patients of primary osteoporosis were randomly divided into twogroups according to the numbers: the treatment group(20 cases) and the control group(20cases). The treatment group was treated with embedding thread at Pishu(BL 20) andShenshu(BL 23), once two weeks and for six consecutive months; the control group wasn'ttreated with any remedy, but this group was also observed for six consecutive months.Changes in bone mass density(BMD) and pain before and after treatment were analyzed.Results: (1)bone mass density (BMD):The BMD of lumbar vertebrae (L2-4) and left hipbetween the treatment group and the control group was not differet before treatment (P＞0.05), the BMD of lumbar vertebrae (L2-4) was not differet also after treatment (P＞0.05),but the BMD of left hip was differet after treatment (P＜0.05).For the treatment group,the BMD of lumbar vertebrae (L2-4) and Ward's of left femur was increased to some extentas compared between prior treatment and post-treatment (P＜0.05), and the BMD of neck ofleft femur and greater trochanter of left femur was increased significantly (P＜0.01); Whilefor the control group, the BMD of lumbar vertebrae (L2-4) was decreased to some extent ascompared between before and after observation (P＞0.05), the BMD of Ward's and greatertrochanter of left femur was decreased much (P＜0.05), and the BMD of neck of left femurwas also decreased obviously (P＜0.01).(2)score of clinical pain: The score of clinical pain between the treatment group and thecontrol group was not differet before treatment (P＞0.05),but it was differet aftertreatment(P＜0.01).For the treatment group, the score of clinical pain was relieved effectivelyas compared between prior treatment and post-treatment (P＜0.05); While for the controlgroup, the score of clinical pain was aggravated obviously as compared between priorobservation and post-observation (P＜0.01).Conclusions: Embedding thread at Pishu(BL 20) and Shenshu(BL 23) can relieve paineffectively and increase BMD significantly in the female of primary osteoporosis;The treatment of embedding thread at Pishu(BL 20) and Shenshu(BL 23) is simple, security,utility, time-saving and convenient. Primary osteoporosis is a disease can be prevented andcured.
