Objective: To study the efficacy and safety of treatinghypertensive patients with diabetic nephropathy using Ramipril combinedvalsartan. Methods: Ramipril combined with valsartan was given to thehypertensive patients with diabetic nephropathy under the well control ofblood glucose. Comparing the index of urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER),Blood urea nitrogen(BUN),Serum creatinine(SCr),systolicblood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) before and after24 weeks'therapy. Results: the combinative treatment decreasedsignificantly blood pressure and urinary albumin excretion rate (UAER).Conclusions: It is an effective and safe way to treat hypertensive patientswith diabetic nephropathy with combination therapy with Ramipril andvalsartan. The protective effect on the kidney is independent from theinfluence on blood pressure.
