Nitrofurans man-made are nitrofurazone , nitrofurantoin and furazolidone mainly. Foods from animals could be secured by determination of nitrofurans in animal feeds. We discussed the conditions of the seperation, extraction and the extracts purified of nitrofurans . A ultra performance liquid chromatography (UPLC)method was established for simultaneous determination of three nitrofurans, nitrofurazone , nitrofurantoin and furazolidone in animal feeds. Nitrofurans in animal feeds were extracted by acetonitrile under the microwave, and determined by ultra performance liquid chromatography with a photodiode-array detector. Nitrofurans were extracted from animal feeds with the microwave at 80℃, 10min,2atm and the extracts were purified by the OasisTM MCX solid phase extract column . The mobile phase considered as an optimum was acetonitrile–glacial aceticacid(0.3%)(10:90,v/v), and the flow was 0.4ml/min . The detector was set at 365nm. The overall average recovery in nitrofuran fortified feeds was 84.5~92.3% for nitrofurazone, 80.0~92.3% for nitrofurantoin, 83.8~92.3% for furazolidone. The UPLC limit of detection, based on a S/N of 3, was estimated to be 0.01,0.015,0.01μg/g for nitrofurazone, nitrofurantoin and furazolidone, respectively. UPLC has showed itself to be a sensitive, selective and rapid method and was successfully used for confirmation analysis of nitrofurazone, nitrofurantoin and furazolidone in animal feeds.
