The treatment of Erectile Dysfunction is the important section of Andrology. The rate of ED is always in high level in the world. It hurt the male, decrese the quanlity of life and made the family unsteady. Now people pay more attention to ED gradually when they expect their life more super.There is few effective methods for treating ED to The western medicine before 80"s 20 century. People depended on only psychology treament, behavior treatment and having androgen. Vacumm constriction device (VCE), ICI, medicated urethral system for erection, operations were invented later. The advent of PDE-5 especially Viagra made progress of the treatment of ED. It was praised by the people for it's satisfactory curative effect and little side-effect, but It's popularity was precented by it's high price. On the other hand, it is not looked as perfect because it can't enhance male's sexual desire.People have more presure than ever when the work become more and more busy. Male have more contest than ever. There are many new problems appear which we have not ever meet. So it needs solving by new methods. We can speculate that people's psychology disease is very serious because "Insonmnia" turn to very popular. Some reports about the p sychol ogy disease leading to impotence show us that heart-hurted is very critical in the factors of impotence. The purpose of impotence treatment is to bring the health tO body and psychology. But we have not seen there are detailed argumentation about it now. The erectile function can be improved by making the spirit calmful and nutrienting the heart. And plenty of the reports about it may be show us that treating impotence throught the heart would be effective. So the research is to adopting AnShenSan——a kind of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the impotence, and observe the curative effect,then make a discuss base on the result.Objective: To investigate the efficiency and superiority by using AnShengSan to cure the psychological Erectile DysfunctionMethod: We choose the patients whose diagnose is the Psychological ED in our hospital. We select the investigative objects according to the internalize standard and exclusion standard. According to the random digits table the screening patients were randomized into TCM group(group A) and control test group(group B). The group A used AnShengSan and group B used Viagra respectively to antidepressant therapy. Scores of International Index of Erectile Function(ⅡEF) were detected before treatment and after the first , second and forth week therapeutic course respectively. ⅡEF-5 were used to evaluate the efficacy. We observed the untoward reaction and analysised the blood common practice, liver-kidney function and checked the electrocardiogram of the patients before and after the end of the therapy.Result: 1.In the AnShengSan group,ⅡEF scores were all increased significantly than 4 weeks before. (P＜0.05)。2.4 weeks after therapy, AnShengSan scores and Viagra scoresof group A and group B have no great difference. (P＞0.05) 3.4 weeks after therapy, AnShengSan curative effect and Viagra curative effect of group A and group B have no great difference. (P＞0.05) 4. Before and after treatment of AnShengSan, there was no untoward reaction happened on the group A. inversely, taking antidepressant drugs brought some untoward reetctions.Conclusion: 1. AnShengSan has a therapeutic effect in treatment of the Psychological Erectile Dysfunction.2. AnShengSan has a therapeutic effect similar to the Viagra in treatment of the psychological Erectile Dysfunction. 3. AnShengSan treatment has no side-effect and untoward reaction. 4. As such an effective, economic, easy treatment that AnShengSan can take the place of the Viagra which is just using ED drugs. TCM has its unique good qualities,it is a treatment that has a favourable perspective and can bring great economic benefit.
