It is well known that stoke is one of the most important causation to death. We have done a lot of in reviewing, but there is still not big sample research in stroke. In the past, we usually do our research of rehabilitation of stroke with either small sample, or big sample but with several simple factors. So, we have to abandon a lot of invaluable information.There are not many domestic researches in the resumption of function after stoke. Much attention has been put on the risks of stroke and the preceding research. In our country, different departments use different assessment tables, so it causes the handicap in the science communication in rehabilitation. So in such instance, we need a normative and uniform rehabilitation data system in assessment and analyse for different centers.The objective in this research is to build Stroke Uniform Data System (SUDS) by the technology of computer, and to realize the function of long-distance communication to share the public information. It will accumulate invaluable source material for clinic, teaching and research and analyse much information and data for querying. The system will give help to form uniform standards, which are admitted by international and national academia, of stroke rehabilitation, at least in local area. It will give help to the communication in science and academic research. At a specified future date, the system can be used to scale the curative effect and economic benefit of your own department by comparing with the data in the system. At the same time the system will be trend to become one of the bases of medicare. So this subject will be a profitable explore in our popularization and standardization in rebabilitation.This system is based on the correlative contents of the Guids of Diagnosis and Therapy of Rehabilitation in China, which is written by the Sanitation Department of PRC, to design the Stroke Uniform Data System. The software tools is Windows Server 2003 Enterprise, SQL server2000 and Delphi 7.0. The statistic and analytic software is SPSS.The system includes 4 Database : General Instance Database; Disease Database; Functional Assessment Database; Syndrome and Other Disorders Database. In the Disease Database, there are 3 tables : Anamnesis Table, Clinical Exam Table, Assessment Table. All of the Databases and Tables are the source of database information.The design project of this system is module project, including 1 main module and 4 functional module .Many menus can be drought out and many default choices are normal value, which improve the efficiency. Besides general functional as general database, such as record, add, edit, del, and so on, there are many other special functions, including Data Auditing, Report Form Sat, Purview Distribute. And we put the Structure Query Language (SQL) into the system directly, so we can take use of the great function in querying and analysing. Another characteristic of this system is to change the results of querying into the format of Excel, which can be used by SPSS directly. This function improve the veracity and efficiency of the data.The structure of this system is client / sever (C/S). The host database is installed on the host server, connecting with other clients by authorization. Different user can log in the system by different purviews, and do different things such as record, add, edit, del, and so on. The software of Excel and SPSS are installed on the client, then the users can do some statistic and analyse .It has been confirmed by the National Investigation Institution that this system is the first database system based on network of rehabilitation in China (No. 200615022070GN), which is a professional database in stroke, avoiding many uncontrolled factors.This system supports 3 kind of query to adapt different needs. For more scientific and veracious, we set a auditing system in different levels and use SPSS to analyse. All the results and exporting information are the format of Excel.With the development of medicine, the medical information and data of scientific research increase fleetly. And how to deal with these data will be more and more important. SUDS is a computer assistant system in the stroke rehabilitation ,which will offer an effective tool for stroke rehabilitation.This system can be sued for the scientific research in stroke rehabilitation to form a kind of national scientific research by sharing data. Another direction of development is to combine with Hospital Information System (HIS). And with the development of HIS, a lot of data of SUDS will come from HIS directly. It will be very effective.When the data is large enough, we may design the large -scale webstation and build national uniform database of rehabilitation as UDSMRSM in the USA. So if possible, to build database of national level to contribute to the improvement of Chinese daily living.
