Study On Influenza Virus Propagating In Vero Cell

Influenza caused by influenza virus type A,B,C, is important as a cause of severe morbidity and mortality that disrupts work in schools,the public services and elsewhere.During major epidemics many people require medical treatment or hospitalization. Excess mortality often accompanies influenza epidemics,the vast majority affected being the elderly. Since they constitute the most rapidly increasing sector of the populations of many countries-projections show that their numbers are likely to double by early in the next century-the epidemiology of influenza can be expected to change accordingly,especially in the developed countries. The only means of influenza prophlaxis generally available at present is vaccination.Inactivated influenza vaccines have been in widespresd use for nearly 60 years. The efficacy of immunization has varied according to circumstances, but the differences of protection rates of 75-90% have been reported may result from continuing antigenic variation in the prevalent epidemic strains, and the preferential growth of certain influenza virus subpopulations in different host cells.Thus , it is as supplementary in the"Recommendations for the Production and Control of Influenza Vaccine (Inactivated)"(WHO No.927.2005),the increasing use of mammalian cells for virus isolation and vaccine production.At present, the cells, including MDCK,Vero,PER.C6 are recommended as cell substance of Influenza Virus Vaccine (Inactivated) production by WHO. And Vero cell line has been successfully used for Rabies,IPV,PIV vaccines production.According to the reports of some literatures and the results from large amounts of test,this dissertation has accomplished the major technics of rapidly cultivating Influenza virus in Vero cell and the seed lot system for Influenza Virus Vaccine(Inactivated,Vero Cell) production. Above all,this paper is provide the foundation of further researching Influenza Virus Vaccine(Inactivated,Vero Cell).
