Management Of Urethral Stricture And Obliteration Using New KTP Laser

Objective:To investigate the safety and efficacy of KTP laser vaporization in men with the urethral stricture and obliteration.Methods:The evaluation included 58 cases of urethral stricture and obliteration patients between September 2004 and September 2006 by analyzing indicators such as operation blood loss, operation time etc.Summarize the surgical indications, postoperative complications and the prevention of complications.Explore the treatment of KTP laser in urethral stricture and obliteration.Results: Urethral stricture and obliteration in 58 patients were treatd successfully with KTP laser .Operation time ranged 20~60min,with mean(33.4±21.6)min.There were no complications such as bleeding, perforation, extravasation,incontinence, etc. Tube time was 4～7days, with average (5.0±0.3)d. All were performed regular urethral tube expansion after extraction. Stricture recurrence were found in 2 cases. Others were self-urination and urinary continuous.Conclusions: It has been demonstrated that KTP laser treatment of urethral stricture and obliteration is proved with advantages of effectiveness, simple procedure, less complications and safety.
