Objective : Discuss the definition of the central tumor and the application of LPN for central tumor .Methods : From August 2005 to July 2006, 8 patients (including3 TLPN, 5 RLPN) underwent laparoscopic partial nephrectomy, tumor size, operation times, ischemic time, blood loss, margin , food intake time, complications and renal function were collected for retrospective analysis .Results : All the 8 operations were successful. 4 Males, 4 females,3 left, 5 right, the mean age is 34(28-71), the mean tumor size is 1.8cm (1.0-3. 0cm), the mean operative time was 3h(2-4h) and the mean ischemic time was 34 min (25 -61 min). The estimated bleeding volume ranged from 100 ml to 300 ml, with a mean of 150 ml and no patient needed blood transfusion. 7 cases was renal cell carcinoma, 1 was hamartoma. Pathology showed negative surgical margins in all cases. No hemorrhage , no urine leakage was noticed during the follow up of half a year to one year .No recurrence and renal function failure was noticed. Conclusions: Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy for central tumor is safe and effective , the short term effects is positive, the long term effects of the procedure need further investigation. The use of the B-ultrasonic made it easier for the process.
