Objective: To study the relationship between apoptosis index and survival rate of PMN and the severity of cute pancreatitis in rats. Methods: The different severity of acute pancreatitis model of SD rat was established by retrograde injection of different concentration of sodium deoxycholate into the common bile-pancreatic duct. Rats(n=18)were divided at random into Control group,AP1 group(0.75% dose group) and AP2 group(1.5% dose group). The apoptosis index of PMN in acute pancreatitisis was analysed by TUNEL,and the survival rate of PMN by flow-cytometry analysis. Results: The apoptosis index was higher in AP1 group than in AP2 group(30±6 vs 20±4 P <0.05); the survival rate was lower in AP1 group than in AP2 group (56.12±4.21 vs 67.15±5.11 P<0.05).Conclusion: The degree of apoptosis PMN index is inversely related to the severity of acuty pancreatitis; The degree of PMN survival rate is positivily related to the severity of acuty pancreatitis.
