Phellinus is a very valuable medicine fungus, which can depress tumour, antibiosis, improve organism immunity and so on; The finger print of Chinese medicinal materials is a valid means in identification and quality control. Through this research we had constructed finger print of Phellinus with EST-PAGE, POD-PAGE, TLC-PAGE, HPLC and IR. According to the number of EST-PAGE straps, we can identify P. igniarius, P. baumii and P. linteus. According to the characteristic parameter of EST-PAGE and POD-PAGE finger print, we can identify production places. We prepare TLC samples through 70 % alcohol, ultrasounds extraction and Et Ac abstraction, then chromato-graphy by polyamide. We use N-hexane-Et Ac-glacial acetic acid (10 :1:1) as developing solvent. As a result we get a ideal finger print. The peaks average value of Rf are as follow: Pk1=0.423, Pk2=0.579, Pk3=0.742, Pk4=l, Pk5=1.073, Pk6=1.274, Pk7=1.520. We prepare HPLC samples through 75% alcohol, and obtain a good result. Stability test, precision test and reproducibility test indicate that using HPLC technique to construct finger print is consistent with technology request of finger print. The relative retention area and relative retention time of the 11 common fingerprint peaks can used in identification. According to the peak height ratio (I value) of infrared spectrum, we can identify P. baumii, which has different habit.
