Objective: We have investigated the mechanism of bladder pathophysiology and detrusor histopathologic manifestations of streptozotocin-induced diabetes mellitus rats and the effect of insulin treatment, in order to find more foundation for prevention, diagnosis and treatment in early stage of diabetic neurogenic bladder. Methods: Modes of streptozotocin induced diabetic rats were established, which were stochastically divided into the observation group and the insulin treatment group, as well as the normal contrast group. Of the above three groups, bladder volume-pressure curve and strip length-tension curve were observed separately in six weeks and ten weeks, and the curve changes was observed after the electric stimulation. Routinely HE stained, the detrusor histopathologic performance was observed by optional and electric microscopy. Results: Six-week and ten-week contrast group, DM observation group, insulin treatment group contained 14 examples each. â‘ In vivo volume-pressure curve it was observed that all curves increased gradually at the beginning, accelerates upwards as it reached certain volume, and decreased slowly after reaching peak; the pressure peaks of both the six-week and ten-week observation curve moved a shift to right and were lower than that of its contrast group(P<0.05). As for the volume of the both observation groups, pressure curve's tendency was alike, but the ten-week observation group's pressure peak was obviously lower than six weeks observation groups'(P<0.05). The curve of insulin treatment group was alike with the contrast groups', and there was no significant different pressures peak between the two groups (P>0.05).Given electric stimulation of the fixed intensity, the pressure increased accordingly within the certain volume with the volume increase. Contrast group and insulin treatment group had bigger pressure rising scope than the observation group, and the pressure peaks of them were significantly different...
