Objective:Cerebral ischemic reperfusion injury(IRI) is a dangerous complication that most frequently meet in the clinic. It is usually accompanied by many diseases, such as brain trauma, brain tumor and cerebral vasocular diseases. It is a common response of brain to the injury and has the decisive role to the prespection of primitive disease. With the IRI exacerbating, the intracranial pressure increases, usually induces vasogenic brain edema(VBE)and tonsillar hernia. The death rate is high but there is no effective method to control. Some study had suggested that permeability of blood-brain barrier(BBB) changed when VBE formed. The utrastructure of BBB consists of endothelial cells of capillary vessel, basallamina and gliomacells. This structural integrity of BBB is important in keeping normal physiological function.Matrix metalloproteinases(MMPs) are a gene family of enzymes that degrade extracellular matrix(ECM) molecules. However , ECM is important in maintaining a neuronal microenvironment. There is a close relationship between matrix metalloproteinase and the development of cerebral ischemia ,as well as the following cerebral damage and reperfusion. To investigate the expression ,the dynamic changes and clinical significance of serum matrix metalloproteinase-3 (MMP-3) and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) on various stages in patients with cerebral infarction, so as to explore the mechanism of cerebral infarction to provide new basis for prevention and treatment of this disease clinical , Inhibitor of metalloproteinase can be the new target for the prevention and treatment of cerebral ischemia.
