Keloid is a tough problem for the medical field for its high recurrence rate, There is no a perfect therapy, although many methods are used recently. Radiotherapy is firstly reported which was used in Keloid by De Beurman in 1906,X-ray radiotherapy was used to prevent Keloid in the early stage of postoperation by Cosman in 1961. Explored for half of century, there is a far development in the field of postoperative radiotherapy, but there were still some problems which were not solved such as the appropriate time and the total dose and the divided dose for the radiotherapy. To explore the treatment results in condition of the same total dose but the different divided dose, we want to find out the best divided dose by analysis.Objective:To explore the effect of radiotherapy used in Keloid patients in the condition of the same total dose but not the same single irradiation dose.Methods:57 keloids patients were treated with electron beam after operation given the same total dose but the difference of their divided dose. They were divided into 3 groups: A group (total dose 15GY, divided dose1GY, per day), B group (total dose 15GY, divided dose3GY, per day), C group (total dose 15GY, divided dose5GY, per day).Results:In the condition of the same total dose (15GY), the efficiency of 24H postoperative electron beam therapy was significantly differences in the three groups.The curable rate of group A is 35.58%, group B is 78.95%,group C is 73.68%. significantly differences by analysis(p<0.05). Group A,B,A,C are significantly differences by analysis(p<0.05/3),Thereis no difference between Group B and C(p>0.05/3).Conclusions:Electron beam is an effective method for preventing keloid from recurrence. The effect of radiotherapy after operation of keloid has relationship with dose fraction.The smaller dose fraction,the more recurrence rate,The more dose fraction,the more side effect .This time,divided dose 3GY is the best of all.
