| The aim of this study is to synthesize three brand-new chromium complexes with the natural compounds that can greatly reduce blood glucose of diabetic mice. The formation of flavone chromium complexes are as follows: the ligands are dissolved in the solvent, alkaline is added and pH value is adjusted to 9, the complexes in the form of precipitation appear after the metal ions are added, then filtrated and washed by alcohol and water. The synthesis of polysaccharides chromium complexes is much more complicated: the polysaccharides are dissolved in the warm water, strong alkaline is added and pH walue is adjusted to more than 12, metal ions are added until the precipitation appears, filtrate is collected and concentrated. The complexes can be sepearted from free chromium ions by sephadex G-25 column. The characterization of obtained complexes included in IR, UV-visible, Elemental analysis, ICP-AES, TG analysis and ESR. Data show that the potential coordination sites of flavone chromium complexes are 4-C=O and 5-OH, while those of MDG-1 polysaccharides chromium complexes are associated-OH of the polysaccharides. The molecular formulas are Na2Cr(C21H16O11)2OH-?10H2O for baicalin chromium complex and NaCr(C15H9O5)2Cl2?8H2O for baicalein chromium complex. Although the actual molecular formula of MDG-1 polysacchardies chromium complex is not known, the content of chromium ions in the complex is up to 17 %.After 14 d administration to diabetic mice, the high dosage of MDG-1... |
