Aim:To investigate the relationship between habenular nucleus and dorsal raphe through observing the changes of respiratory frequency and myoelectricity of genioglossus muscle and diaphragmatic muscle when habenular nucleus was destroyed or electrically or chemically stimulated according to the effects of habenular nucleus on respiration and the infacts of it and dorsal raphe exciting respiration.Methods:1.Electrical Stimulating and destructing habenular nucleus;2. micro-injecting 6μg GABA or 6μg 5-HT through burying cannula in habenular nucleus.Results:1.Respiration similar to obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS)emerged promptly after the stimulus intensity on habenular nucleus was increased and recovered gradually after the stimulation stopped.Respiratory frequency decreased and myoelectricity of genioglossus muscle and diaphragmatic muscle showed two-way reaction which appeared transient decreasing and then increasing reactionally. Myoelectricity of genioglossus muscle decreased (22%)and then quickly stepped up to 104%. Myoelectricity of diaphragmatic muscle decreased firstly (11%)and then increasing reactionally(23%).Tiny stimulating MHb made the respiratory frequency increas(12%)。2. Respiratory frequency increased (19%) and the score of myoelectricity of genioglossus muscle decreased(46%) and myoelectricity of diaphragmatic muscle decreased(19%)after electrical destructing habenular nucleus. 3. Respiratory frequency and reaction of myoelectricity are all suppressed when habenular nucleus was stimulated after dorsal raphe was electrically...
