Background and objective Lung cancer is the first killer of human being in the whole world. Recently, although many treatment strategies have been developed, the anti-cancer effects have no significant increase in most countries including China, and the total five years' survival rate of lung cancer remains lower than 15%. Therefore, exploration and development of effective new anti-cancer drugs are an important task in the field of oncology. Since 1970s, increasingly more attention has been given to the essential trace element selenium and its compounds with effects of chemoprevention and anti-cancer.
