Edentulism is a kind of common diseases in oral cavity for old people. It is well documented that mandibular implant-supported overdenture treatment is an effective treatment for edentulous people who complain that the traditional mandibular complete denture is lack of retention and stability. Results from existing clinical studies seem to indicate that clinical results are excellent, irrespective of the type of attachment that is employed. However, there are only limited, sound scientific evidences available with respect to variation in oral function, peoples' satisfaction and treatment aftercare among mandibular implant-supported overdentures with various attachment types.
