[Objective] By testing the impact of ischemic postconditioning (IPC) on the activity of FKHR in murine myocardial tissues at reperfusion, the current study aims to find out whether factor FKHR contributes to the cardioprotective effect of IPC.[Methods] SD rats underwent either no intervention (sham) or 30 minutes of ischemia followed by no reperfusion (ischemic) or 4 hours of reperfusion, with (IPC) or without (control) 3 cycles of 10 seconds reperfusion followed by 10 seconds ischemia during the first minute of reperfusion. Lead II of ECG, LVSP, +dp/dt, and -dp/dt of each rat were continuously monitored. The expressions of p-FKHR and tot-FKHR in the Cardiac tissues at risk were detected semiquantitatively by western blot. Then the ratio of p-FKHR to tot-FKHR was calculated.[Results] Compared with nonischemic myocardial tissues, the values of p-FKHR/tot-FKHR of myocardial tissues at risk at reperfusion were dropped by 66%(P<0.05), and those of myocardial tissues subjected to half an hour ischemia without reperfusion didn't change significantly. The...
