Objective: To investigate the relationship of TCM different syndromes and inflammatory cytokine interleukin -6(IL-6) ,tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α ) in acute cerebral infarction(ACI).Methods: Using the measuring scale of dialectical diagnostic code about stroke, We scored the syndrome of 66 cases. We sorted the 35 patients whose scores ≥7 as the Fire-Heat group, and the 31 patients whose scores ≤7 as the Non-Fire-Heat group .When stroke occurred in 72 hours, on 7th day and 14th day ,we measured the content of IL-6 and TNF-α in serum by ABC-ELISA. We observed the changes of the content of IL-6 and TNF-α in two groups and in different time .Results: The content of IL-6 and TNF-α in the Fire-Heat group were significantly higher than those in the Non-Fire-Heat group (P<0.05) ; Within nosogenic 72 hours, on 7th day and 14th day ,the content of IL-6 and TNF-α in serum dropped gradually (P<0.05 ),the content got close to normal value on nosogenic 14th day. The scores of neurologic impairment was higher in the Fire-Heat group than those in the Non-Fire-Heat group .Conclusions: (1)The content of IL-6 and TNF-α in stroke can be regarded as a mark to differentiate the Fire-Heat syndrome from the Non-Fire-Heat syndrome.(2) IL-6 , TNF-α changed regularly at different time points, and played important roles in the acute stage of ACI.(3)The neurologic impairment in the Fire-Heat was more serious than the Non-Fire-Heat.
