Pecutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA),an important method for treating ischemic hrart disease , has been used extensively. But the high incidence of restenosis after PTCA is the vital limitation for its long term effect. There are no satisfactory methods and medicines to treat restenosis because of the complicated mechanisms in the development of restenosis. Many studies showed that functional features of Chinese Traditional Medicine (TCM) reflect its superiority in preventing and treating vascular restenosis. In order to find out the active Chinese drug on the inhibition intimal proliferation the topic was designed.Objective: To investigate the inhibition of Panax Notoginseng and Polygonum Multiflorum on the intimal proliferation in balloon injured artery of the modelled rabbits.Method: The New Zealand white rabbits were divided into 5 groups :mormal , sham, model, TCM A(Polygonum Multiflorum), TCM B (Panax Notoginseng). The right iliac arteries of model group, TCM A group and TCM B group were injured by balloon de-endothelialization, then the rabbits were given cholesterol diet for 6 weeks. Sham group: the making-methods was the same with the model group without balloon de-endothelialization. Normal group was without any model-liking and sham-liking factors. Vessel angiography was performed at 6 weeks, then all rabbits were executed, collected blood, take out injured vessel. The blood and arteries of all groups were researched biochemically and pathologically, including the level of blood fat (total cholesterol, triglyceride, high density lipoprotein cholesterol and low density lipoprotein cholesterol), homocysteine (Hey) in serum ,and the activity of superoxide di smutase (SOD) and the content of inflammatory factor(IL-6, TNF a )and Malondialdehyde(MDA) in the vessel tissue.Result: After hight-fat diet for 6 week , model groups' blood fat, inflammatory factor, malondialdehyde and homocysteine have increased, and at the same time the...
