| [Objectives] The technology of whisker fused nanoparticle was investigated and the optimal ratio of whisker/nanoparticle was selected. The effect of different kinds and usage amounts of whisker fillers on mechanical properties of resin composite was studied and the optimal plan was discovered by adding different kinds of whisker fillers into resin. The micrometer and nanometer size of β silicon carbide whisker (B-SiCw) were used to study the effect of different diametrical size of filler particles on mechanical properties of resin composite.[Materials and methods] In the experiment, the optimal ratio of the whisker/nanoparticle was chose by fusing silicon dioxide(SiO2) nanoparticle to micrometer B-SiCw at whisker/SiO2 mass ratios of 4:1, 2:1, 1:1, 2:1 and 1:4, and observing under the Transmission Electron Microscope(TEM) and the Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM). According to the optimal ratio, β-SiCw and aluminium borate whisker(ABw) fused SiO2 nanoparticle respectively. Then the mixture and zinc oxide whisker(ZnOw) without fusing nanopaticle were added into resin composite respectively at different usage ratio and made into the test specimens (2mm×2mm×25mm). Finally, the flexural strength and flexural mode of the test specimens were investigated on a computer-controlled Universal Testing Machine after the test specimens were stored 24h in water at (37±1)℃. The micrometer and nanometer size of B-SiCw were used in the experiment.
