| OBJECTIVE: To explore the value of DWI, mutivoxel 2D ~1H-MRS in the differential diagnosis of encephalitides, cerebral infarctions and low-grade astrocytomas.METHODS: The conventional MR imaging , diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) and multivoxel 2D 1H-MRS were performed in 70 cases ( 26 cases with acute or subacute encephalitides, 25 cases with acute or subacute cerebral infarctions, and 19 cases with low-grade astrocytomas) before treatments or operations. The diagnoses were made clinically in cases with encephalitides or cerebral infarctions and were confirmed surgically and pathologically in cases with low-grade astrocytomas. DWI were performed using single shot SE-EPI sequence with two different b values (0 s/mm~2 and 1000 s/mm~2). Multivoxel 2D 1H-MRS were performed using PRESS sequence (TR/TE: 1000ms/144ms). Matrix sizes for multivoxel 2D ~1H-MRS were 12×12 or 16×16. The data measured from DWI and 1H-MRS were calculated and analyzed, and then statistical analyses were performed with Oneway-ANOVA by using the software of SAS 8.2.RESULTS:①DWI: The mean minimum ADC values and rADC values were (0.93±0.29)×10 - 3mm~2/ s and 1.07±0.31 in the encephalitides respectively; (0.49±1.14)×10 - 3mm~2/ s and 0.65±0.19 in... |
