In Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),kidney plays a significant role in the phenomenon of physiology and pathology in one's whole life.So the Method of Invigorating the Kidney is very popular with the ancient doctors in the past dynasties. Acupuncture science as a branch of TCM accumulates enough theoretical knowledge and rich clinical experience.The medicine in song Dynasty has got a brilliant achievement,and it plays the part of connecting the past and future.So according with the thought of differentiating doctrine and exploring origin and offset ,firstly the study generalizes the global acdemical feature of the Song Dynasty's Acupuncturology.Then it gives emphasis to researching the academic thought of the representative Song Dynasty's doctor such as Xu Shuwei,Zhuang Chuo,Dou Cai and Wang Zhizhong.Based on above studies,it generalises the academic characters of the therapy of tonifying the kidney .Finally, it summarizes and assesses the above studies and imagines the future of the application of the therapy of tonifying the kidney with Acupuncture and Moxibustion in the era of gene and present clinical practice.
