Objective: Primary breast carcinoma is one of the most common malignances in China.Chemothreapy is one of important part of breast carcinoma' therapy. It has been found that multidrug-resistance (MDR) is the main reason that lead to failure of chemotherapy. P-gp , GST- π , Topo II have been proposed as correlation with multidrug-resistance. In this study ,our aim is to understand the expression of P-gp, GST- π, Topo II in breast carcinoma and the relationship of between the three drugresistance-associated proteins and the sensitivity of neoadjuvant chemotherapy of breast carcinoma.Materials and Methods: We collected 80 specimens of breast carcinoma of Shandong provincal Qianfoshan hospital during the period from July 2004 to December 2005.We classified the patients into group A and group B .Neoadjuvant chemotherapy was used in group A,and we respectively measured maximum diameters of the tumors by B-ultrasound examination before and after the chemotherapy, we measured the expression of P-gp , GST- π, Topo II in 80 specimens by means of quantitative immunohistochemical image analysis .SPSS 10.0 statistically processed the data. Results: 1. The expression of P-gp, GST-π, Topo II in group A and group B :The P-gp positive rate is 62.5% in group A ,32.5% in group B. We found the expression of P-gp increased significantly in group A compared with group B (P<0.05) . The GST-π positive rate is 45% in group A ,37.5% in group B. No significant difference in the expression of GST-π has been observed between group A...
